After an extensive career in the film industry, Laney took her camera into academia and is now a Senior Research Assistant and documentary film maker working in the field of Pyscho-Traumatology.

Laney has an Bsc (hons) in Psychology and Abuse studies and an Msc in Psychological wellbeing in clinical practice, both from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Laney's expertise lies in inductive qualitative methods, Film making, interpretative phenomenological analysis, experienced based co-design, interviewing trauma victims/survivors and co-production.
